Operation Agent Touch
The Howard Center for Investigative Journalism at ASU

I collaborated with a small team of reporters and editors to report on and produce a large-scale investigation about federal agents who engaged in sex acts with suspected sex trafficking victims at least 17 different times over a course of five months. Our project includes several multimedia elements, including an audio story I produced, videos/photos, an interactive timeline and an animated graphic. Our investigation was published by major national outlets including The Associated Press, The Washington Post and The New York Times.
🏆 Operation Agent Touch earned first prize in Online Reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists’ Region 11. The audio story I produced for the project also earned the Broadcast Education Association’s first-place award for Educational Audio Reporting.

Why U.S. pedestrian deaths are at their highest level in almost 30 years
PBS NewsHour

I shot and edited this PBS NewsHour segment, part of a wider investigation into the Sun Belt’s rising pedestrian fatality rates. My colleagues found strategic road design to be a key factor in eliminating crash risk.
🏆 This segment earned second prize in The Broadcast Education Association’s award for Television Hard News Reporting. It was also a finalist for In-Depth Reporting and Breaking Television News Reporting awards from the Society of Professional Journalists’ Region 11.

“How Phoenix is tackling record high temperatures”

I co-produced this video segment about city-led efforts to combat the urban heat island effect for Arizona PBS. It aired as a project of Elemental, a sustainability journalism project comprised of several public radio and TV stations in the West.
